Kay Dimmick is a figurative artist based out of Portland, Oregon. Originally from Rochester, New York she received her Masters in Fine Arts from Pacific Northwest College of Art in 2020, and a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Seton Hill University in 2015. Her work has been exhibited in several group and solo shows throughout the US and Europe.

Dimmick's practice examines the relationship between painting and photography by exploring the complexities of representation and abstraction. The figures in her work are semi-abstract, like apparitions through the layers of oil paint. The hazy quality and distortion uproots the image from reality creating an atmosphere of a memory or dream.Through the combination of these mediums her work brings up themes of memory, and the physical manifestation of an unseen world.
